4th Annual Back-to-School Event

On August 29, the community came together at Swift Hall, Belize, for the 4th Annual Back-to-School Event, an initiative of Associate Marilyn Garvin. The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth were once again proud to contribute annually to this important community outreach.

The event was designed to help children and families prepare for the new school year. Children received free hair braiding from volunteer hairstylists and barbers. The event also included giveaways of clothing, footwear, textbooks, and school supplies, including pencils, erasers, sharpeners, markers, rulers, crayons, and other essential items.

Sister Kerry and Sister Carlette ran the school supplies booth. They worked together to organize the supplies and distribute them to children and families who were in need.

Volunteers made the event possible through their generous support and service of volunteers. The hairstylists and barbers freely donated their time and talents, while others helped provide and distribute the various items.

The 4th Annual Back-to-School Event was a beautiful expression of community, generosity, and service. Through the vision of Associate Marilyn Garvin and the commitment of volunteers and supporters, many children began the school year feeling prepared, cared for, and encouraged.
