Some days I feel so energized and ready to “widen my tent” in order to welcome new theological paradigms, new ways of finding you in the ever-evolving mystery of the universe. But today… well, if truth be told, I’m just feeling tired — tired of the constant emerging of something new, tired of the endless unfolding that doesn’t seem to let me catch my breath. Today I am longing to rest, to find you in the comfortable, the familiar. Do I really need to embrace another transformative chapter in my life?
God of mercy, give me the courage I need to entrust myself to you in the newness. Give me the energy I need to expand my tent—to unfasten my tent pegs from what holds me back from the unfamiliar paths you are placing before me. In my heart of hearts, I know that they will lead me into the unfathomable mystery of your mercy and love.
