Fall 2022 eCourse: "Wisdom at the Well"

Wisdom at the Well

Wisdom @ the Well
Continuing Education eCourse for Vocation & Formation Ministers
Mary Pat Garvin, RSM, Ph.D.

The theme for this year’s continuing education eCourse is Wisdom @ the Well. Before modernity, and still, in many parts of the world, women gathered at wells not solely to obtain water, but also to drink deeply of the wisdom that flowed from a common venture. Enter Jesus. That a man would approach a well, a thoroughly womanly setting, was novel. Yet, both the Samaritan woman and Jesus drank deeply of each other’s wisdom honed by their life’s experiences.

Wisdom @ the Well will offer participants an opportunity to gather, women and men alike, to share and gain wisdom in the joint venture of accompanying those in vocation discernment and the formative journey.

Sessions will be held on ZOOM and will include input, conversation, and small group discussion. Participation in this series includes free access to SLIConnect: Resources for Healthy Life and Ministry (, a service of Saint Luke Institute. SLIConnect is a rich resource of 100+ video courses designed to promote healthy life and ministry for members of religious congregations, ordained clergy, and all those ministering in the Church.
