Fifth Sunday of Easter – May 3, 2026 – Sr. Ellen Keane, SNDdeN John 14: 1-12 Today’s Gospel passage from John is one I have always loved. Jesus speaks to his friends with the following promise: “I am going to prepare a place for you and when it is ready I will take you with me that where I am you also may be.” While I was on retreat as I was preparing for my mission to Kenya this sentence leapt off the page as the words came to life…What I heard with the ear of my heart was, ” Ellen, I am going to prepare a place for you and when it is ready I will take you with me that where I am you also may be!” For me the words of Christ took flesh, as I journeyed to Kenya and discovered home away from home… A time of countless blessings. As someone once said of scenes from the Gospel, “What help is this moment if it does not continue in our time?” If it does not continue in the here and now?
