On April 18, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth celebrate Foundation Day in Nepal, commemorating over four decades of ministry in education, health services, social work, and disaster response.
It all started on this day in 1979 when the first Sisters arrived in Kathmandu to embark on their mission. Since then, they have built a remarkable legacy in the country. When a devastating earthquake struck in 2015, the Sisters were on the ground, providing critical aid and support to those in need. In times of poverty and injustice, they have consistently taken the initiative to uplift and empower communities.
Through their tireless efforts in education, countless Nepali children have been granted the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.
Today, we celebrate the impact and commitment of the Sisters presence in Nepal.
