Kentucky Gives Day: A box fan makes a big difference. During the hottest days, staying cool is a matter of safety. Extreme heat places older adults and families at risk each summer. Last year, supporters helped the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth distribute 600 fans across Nelson County. This year, the Sisters hope to raise $12,000 on May 12, 2026, for Kentucky Gives Day to provide more fans to those in need. Each fan offers safe, low-cost cooling and includes a prayer card as a sign of care and compassion. Fans will be distributed on June 18, 2026.

Run with a Mission: The Nazareth 5K will take place Saturday, May 16, at 8 a.m. This year’s theme, Peace, Love, and Tie-Dye, will bring a fun, colorful atmosphere for runners and families.

  • Sisters who plan to attend and would like a tie-dye shirt should notify Sister Services by April 16 with their shirt size. Those who would like to cheer along the route should respond by May 1. Signs and pom-poms will be provided.
  • Employees are encouraged to participate. Registration is free, and participants will receive a tie-dye shirt. Register online or pick up a form at OMA.
  • Volunteers are needed for parking, route support and hydration stations from 7 a.m. to about 9:45 a.m. on May 16. Volunteers will receive a tie-dye shirt. To help, contact Jasmine Huston at jhuston@nazareth.org or (502) 348-1580 with your shirt size and preferred role.
