SCN Statistics: As of March 26, 2026, there are 131 Sisters in the Western Province, 65 in the Bangalore Province, 205 in the Patna Province, 15 Pre-Novices/Novices and 2 in Congregational Leadership for a total of 418. There are 223 Sisters 65 and over and 195 under 65. The median age of all Sisters is 67. In the Western Province the median age is 85, Bangalore Province is 59 and the Patna Province is 52.
Sandhesh – March 2026: The latest issue of Sandhesh highlights recent events across the Patna Province, including the final profession of Sisters Archana Beck, Swastica Kiro, and Veronica Soren, the Executive Committee meeting in Patna, and the renewal of partnership between the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and the Medical Mission Sisters. The issue also features updates from the Vincentian Family gathering, International Women’s Day celebrations across multiple regions, and community events in education and ministry. Corporate Voice: During the upcoming Holy Week, individuals are invited to take global injustices into their prayer and reflections of Jesus’ journey. The Vincentian Stations of the Cross is one example and can be found at https://shorturl.at/p31PZ.
Easter Egg Hunt: OMA is excited to host the Nazareth Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28, weather permitting, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This free community event will take place on the Nazareth Motherhouse campus and is open to children ages 0–10. Families can enjoy taking their own photos with the Easter Bunny, making crafts with the Sisters, and purchasing kettle corn.
The Office of Ecological Sustainability invites the congregation to attend an online presentation on April 16th, 9:30-10:30 a.m. ET/ 7-8 p.m. India time. Marianist Sister Leanne Jablonski, PhD, is a climate change plant ecologist and educator in Dayton, OH. She directs the Marianist Environmental Education Center (MEEC) and is on the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Creation Care/Laudato Si’ teams. She was named among the top five USA Laudato Si’ Champions by the Catholic Climate Covenant. Dr. Jablonski will be speaking about what SCNs can expect from climate change in the regions where we live and how we can develop climate resiliency. The Zoom link to attend the presentation is here.
Bowman Cherry Center: The Nelson County Black Citizens Arts Council will host the grand opening of the new Bowman Cherry Center on April 10 at 5 p.m. in Bardstown, Kentucky. Built between 1905 and 1923 as the first public school for Black children in Nelson County, the site has been rebuilt after years of deterioration. The Center will reopen to offer programs in arts, education, technology, and local history. The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth were honored to support this rebuild. Community members are invited to celebrate and take part in its renewed mission.
Sisters of Charity Federation: The Sisters of Charity Federation is hosting a virtual orientation to better understand how the Federation collaborates at the United Nations with other NGOs, Member States and UN Agencies. This will be both informative and inspirational, with time for dialogue as a community. The dates are April 13 (7-8:30 PM EST) or April 14 (10-11:30 AM EST). Run with a Mission: The Nazareth 5K will take place Saturday, May 16 at 8 a.m. This year’s theme, Peace, Love, and Tie-Dye, will bring a fun, colorful atmosphere for runners and families.
- Sisters who plan to attend and would like a tie-dye shirt should notify Sister Services by April 16 with their shirt size. Those who would like to cheer along the route should respond by May 1. Signs and pom-poms will be provided.
- Employees are encouraged to participate. Registration is free, and participants will receive a tie-dye shirt. Register online or pick up a form at OMA.

Super Raffle: The Super Raffle is now open. The grand prize is $20,000! Only 3,000 tickets are available. The Drawing will be held July 10, 2026, at 1 p.m., live from Nazareth, Kentucky. SCN/A Vacation at Camp Maria: Aug. 12-20, 2026, you are invited to join the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and Associates for a time of prayer, rest, and renewal at Camp Maria Retreat Center in Leonardtown, Maryland. The SCNs and Associates vacation runs Aug 12–20, 2026. The cost is $300 per person and includes meals. Register online at campmaria.org or mail this flyer with payment.
Archival Center Temporary Closing: The Archival Center is closed to visitors during the remodeling of the Collection Storage Room. Staff will continue to respond to archives requests by phone and email throughout this period and encourage inquiries as needed. An announcement will be shared when the Archival Center reopens in the coming months.
