“If the world takes something from us on the one hand, God will give us something on the other.”

St. Louise de Marillac

Prayer, Unity and Faith

On Sunday, June 28, S. Andrea Koverman and Affiliate Cassady Allen joined hundreds of pilgrims and Bishop Peter Baldacchino of the Diocese of Las Cruces for a 2.5-mile pilgrimage to the summit of Mount Cristo Rey. Overlooking both El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, the pilgrimage concluded with the celebration of Mass and prayers for the needs of the Church and its civil leaders. The pilgrimage served as a public witness in response to the Diocese of Las Cruces being the subject of an application by the United States government to exercise eminent domain over diocesan land on Mount Cristo Rey. Pilgrims gathered in prayer to affirm the sacred significance of the site and to support efforts to preserve this place of pilgrimage and devotion, which has drawn countless people in the community closer to God.
