Regional Review, Re-envision & Revitalization

RFC

Dear RFC Members, Partners and Friends,

Over the course of the past year the RFC has had the privilege of working with a team of regional representatives to review and re-envision our regional structure and programming, using the results of previous study and member input. Our overarching goal was to revitalize regions so as to connect better with and support those in formation ministry locally. After considerable discernment and discussion, we are excited to explore with the RFC community the proposed changes.

During the next several months RFC staff will be attending regional formation meetings to present information on the new structure, receive input, and make plans to implement this vision locally. At the meetings there will also be an update on RFC programs and initiatives. As regional meetings are planned and confirmed they will be posted on our website here.

RFC invites leaders, formators, and all others interested in initial and ongoing formation ministry to attend, learn more about the evolving structure, and give input. Your participation in molding this new creation is important!

RFC's new "member areas" will play a crucial role in advancing RFC's mission. They will serve to:

  • foster support, community, and networking among those in formation ministry;
  • facilitate opportunities for members to participate in workshops pertinent to initial formation, lifelong formation, and the ongoing preparation of formators;
  • strengthen the relationship between members, local congregations/provinces/monasteries, and the National Office by serving as a conduit of information, feedback, best practices and the like.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with those at the local level to enhance our efforts at providing crucial support, networking, resources and workshops for those in formation ministry. As always, the RFC is grateful to the many ways community leaders help us advance our mission and respond to the emerging future of religious life.

Please don't hesitate to reach out should you have questions, thoughts or feedback. I can be reached via email at edauwer@relforcon.org. If you'd prefer a conversation, please let me know and I'd be happy to schedule a time for us to connect.

RFC staff look forward to greeting you at a regional meeting in the near future.

Onward,

Ellen Dauwer, SC
Executive Director

P.S. Thank you to our new and renewing members! If you haven't renewed, or would like to become a new member, please reach out today.
