Participating in the six-day retreat at Nazareth Convent, Mokama, from April 9 to 15, 2026, offered a time of deep reflection and renewal. Centered on the theme, “Consecrated Life: A Gift and a Challenge in the Light of the Word of God,” the retreat was guided by Sister Inigo, SSAM. It created space to pause, listen, and encounter God in a personal and meaningful way. Twenty-four Sisters, ages 35 to 55, gathered in prayer, silence, and shared reflection rooted in Scripture and lived experience.
A central question stayed with us throughout the days. Are we truly a blessing to our Community and to those we serve? This question invited honest reflection. It reminded us that vocation is not a single response but a daily choice to love and give of ourselves. We were asked to consider whether our presence brings life to others and responds to the cry of those who are poor and marginalized. The sense that God had a personal appointment with each of us during this time was both humbling and encouraging.
Even the simple rhythm of our breath became a reminder of God’s life within us. It called us to reflect on goodness in our daily lives. Guided by Scripture, and especially the call to remain alert in faith, we were encouraged to grow in maturity, to recognize the good in others, and to be slow to judge. The retreat called us to ongoing conversion, shaped by the Word of God each day.
