We join the Notre Dame Urban Education Center in celebrating Sister Maria Therese Schappert, SND, as she retires from her role as executive director after nearly eight years of faithful leadership. In recognition of her remarkable ministry and lasting impact on the Covington community, the City of Covington proclaimed June 25, 2026, as “Sister Maria Therese Day.” The proclamation honors her compassionate leadership, her commitment to Catholic education and the countless lives she has touched through her service. A lifelong educator, Sister Maria Therese has faithfully shared her gifts as a teacher, principal and leader for more than three decades, where all people are welcomed and valued. We offer our heartfelt congratulations to Sister Maria Therese on this well-deserved recognition and extend our deepest gratitude for her faithful witness and dedicated service. May God continue to bless her abundantly!
