We have a longstanding tradition at Our Lady of the Alpes Parish to mark the month of September: for over five years we come together to celebrate the Bible Month in the Colombia district of the Latin America Province, thanks to an initiative started by Fr. Joseph Deardorff, C.PP.S.
The most valuable thing about this space is that the young people who are preparing for Confirmation take the lead. They are the ones who accompany, direct and guide their comrades in each encounter, sharing their faith face to face. With Christ as their guide and the Bible as their light, this booklet is the tool that guides them in their mission.
During these weeks, the group goes deeper into four fundamental topics for daily and community life:
1. God is Merciful: To discover and experience that unconditional love that always welcomes us.
2. Reconciliation: A necessary step to heal wounds and reach out to each other.
3. Forgiveness: The key to releasing burdens, removing resentments and renewing our relationships.
4. Peace: The result of living mercy and forgiveness, encouraging young people to build peace in their environments.
It is an open invitation to the entire parish to support the journey of our young people and allow ourselves to be moved by their energy in this experience of the Word.
